AFRICA
Rudyard Kipling famously wrote the line “one cannot resist the lure of Africa”. My wife and I wholeheartedly agree with that sentiment in respect of our East African safari adventures. Here you experience the sights and smells of the bush - this is where Africa gets in your blood. Whether the same can be said about the other regions and countries of this vast continent is down to personal taste. Whilst our trips to Morocco and the Gambia were certainly interesting, we wouldn’t be in any hurry to return. In fairness though you shouldn’t try to compare places that are so widely different in culture and habitat, which is why each of my African location write-ups have to be read in context. This is particularly true of the final destination I’ve written about - Bird Island in the Seychelles; rightfully included here as the islands form part of the African Union.
